Why do Catholics pray to saints?
We pray to saints to venerate them, to ask them for guidance, to ask them to pray for us, and to converse with them.
Imagine a loved one died, let's assume their souls were clean enough to get to heaven; would you stop talking to them? Or would you continue to pray and ask them to pray for you and to help you?
Saints are our friends and family, nothing more, nothing less.
People say "Jesus should be the only one you pray to." Well yes, he is the King, but what's the harm of conversing and asking for petition from a loved one? Saints pray alongside you. We do not worship them, we venerate them and ask for help.
God Bless.
